The core of this Compact Folding Rain Poncho Waterproof And Breathable Fabric is a 0.12mm ultra-thin polyether TPU membrane, which is combined with the outer layer 20D nylon cloth and the inner layer 15D polyester fiber mesh through a dot hot melt process. It not only retains the water pressure resistance of TPU (the measured static water pressure resistance reaches 5000mmH₂O, and there is no penetration in continuous heavy rain for 3 hours), but also avoids the stuffiness problem of ordinary PVC fabrics.
The breathability of the fabric comes from the microporous structure of the membrane layer. There are about 120 million micropores with a diameter of 0.2-0.3μm per square centimeter. These pores only allow gaseous water molecules to pass through (moisture permeability ≥8000g/㎡・24h), but can block liquid rainwater. The inner layer of polyester mesh not only reduces the direct contact between the membrane and the skin, but also can drain moisture through the mesh gaps, so there will be no sticky feeling during exercise.
In order to take into account the folding and portability, the fabric has been treated with low temperature softening, with a thickness of only 0.3mm. After folding, the volume can be compressed to 12×8×3cm (about 100g), and the tear strength is 30N (ASTM D751 standard), and it is not easy to be damaged by daily scratches. The edges are seamlessly pressed with ultrasonic technology to avoid water leakage through the needle and thread holes, making it suitable for outdoor scenes such as hiking and cycling.
