Seam - Sealed Tent & Bivy Water Repellent Fabric is a high-performance waterproof fabric designed for tents and bivy bags. It uses advanced waterproof technology to form a tight waterproof barrier on the surface of the fabric, which can effectively resist the penetration of rainwater.
From the waterproof principle, the fabric uses hydrophobic compounds to treat the fiber surface, which reduces the fiber's adsorption of water molecules, so that water forms rolling water droplets on the fabric, just like a lotus leaf "pushing away" dew, which is what we often call the "water-repellent" effect. However, unlike "water proof" that completely blocks water penetration in the true sense, water-repellent fabrics may still penetrate when the water stays for too long or under a certain pressure. However, this fabric has significantly improved its waterproof performance through special technology. Its waterproof level has been professionally tested and reached a high standard. It can easily cope with general rainy weather and provide reliable waterproof protection for the space inside tents and bivy bags.
In practical applications, the fabric performs well. When used in tent production, even in moderate to heavy rain, rainwater is difficult to penetrate the fabric into the tent, ensuring that campers' equipment and rest space remain dry. The seams are sealed to further prevent rain from seeping in through the gaps. For sleeping bags, this fabric allows users to rest in the wild in humid environments without worrying about dew or drizzle getting the sleeping bag wet.
At the same time, this fabric also has a certain degree of breathability. While ensuring waterproofness, it allows air and water vapor to pass through, preventing users from feeling stuffy and humid in tents or sleeping bags. Moreover, it has good durability. After repeated use and a certain degree of friction, the waterproof performance can still be maintained, providing long-term and reliable protection for outdoor travel.
